So I canceled my 40th birthday party. I felt like hell, physically, and just did not want to entertain. I think, truthfully, that I really didn't want to celebrate. Yeah, really. I had hay fever, I was achy, my throat was swollen, I was tired, had no energy, and just wanted to lay horizontal for what seemed like forever. I celebrated enough: on my actual birthday, my father and my husband took me to my favorite restaurant (East Side Cafe - I ate like a pig, it was fabulous), then my husband took me to see George Lopez (he was out of control hysterical - again, fabulous), and frankly, that's all I needed to do. I will say this, I think when I get a chance, I'm going to take myself to a B&B somewhere and treat myself to a spa day, spend some alone time reflecting on how I want to spend the rest of my life, and try to decide: Do I really want a child? I keep thinking that I'm supposed to go through this big transformation or something. Hmmm...I wonder what that's about.
My kitchen is looking so nice. I was going to say, "not my dream kitchen" but then I deleted that line, because I think it actually IS my dream kitchen! I've never had a kitchen with: new counter-tops, new appliances, new lighting, new back splash, new hardware, new sink, new faucet, and soon to be, new paint color. It's pretty damn nice. And clean. And dad is in there right now making something scrumptious and I just realized that I don't want him to leave. Sigh. But I'll see him in June again.
I gotta read me some more about Henry VIII...
