Saturday morning fun
I had a beautiful cup of coffee out on the patio this morning. Just one. I'm done. No more for today. The weather is an amazing 60-something degrees, and the kitties and I love it when we can hang out in the back. Lucas decided to show off by climbing onto the roof via the fence, then proceeded to walk across the patio covering and cry when we wouldn't join him. He's still up there. Silly kitty. Today's plan is to gather all the info needed to work on the area around the patio. Ideas are pretty much formed, now all that is needed is how to get rid off all those darn weeds. I'll calculate soil/compost, gravel and plants needed to fill in the area. It's a perfect day for gardening and my soul needs to take advantage!
I'll be rewarded tonight by heading to my sister's for a Crazy Cajun dinner! To thank her, I'm taking that amazing peach cobbler I made last week along with some yummy Blue Bell Vanilla ice cream - sugar free! No one will know the difference.
I think I may have felt the bump move this week. So hard to tell and it doesn't happen very often. There was a feeling of something like gas bubbles (but no gas, of course!) that didn't feel like anything I'd experienced before. Could it have been the baby? Who knows. I'm still waiting for that "oh yeah, THAT was it!" feeling, but have yet to. Thoughts of a nursery and how to decorate it have started to enter my brain. Will I have a crib or not? Will I need a lot of furniture? I don't think I'll have the traditional nursery outfit, but I know we're going to need some pieces to store clothes, etc. Found this great print on Supermarket along with some other great kids stuff that I'd like to use as my inspiration. Take a look:

I love this print! Animalitos! I love the colors, too. Of course I would; I have these all over the house! I also love this bamboo mobile:

So sweet and very soft. I know it doesn't have any color, and I anticipate many saying, "babies won't be attracted to it! They like color!". But I don't know if that's necessarily true. I'll have to do some research. I simply like the idea of the use of natural materials and I'm so into these animals...
Seeing art like this gets me excited. In two weeks, when I can learn the sex of my child, I'll really start getting into it. For now, I'll simply nest-out my backyard sitting area and enjoy this lovely weather as I day dream about Sean and I spending time in the backyard come spring with our newborn bundle of love and sweetness.

You're onto something... it's not necessarily true. I've read it's more about contracts and patterns for them. Color becomes more important when they're 1 or 2. And I love that mobile too!
